Mick Zeuner Wonderfully jazzy little mini-album. The trio runs like a well-lubricated system with pleasant twists and suprises again and again. Favorite track: Eggshell.

about

What would you get if you put a Chameleon, a particle collider and a cheese cake into a rehearsal room? Well, we don’t know either, but it’s almost as unpredictable as recording a NOTOPIA session.
This new 26 minutes EP called “Fifty Shades Of White” covers six tracks, which can not be more unpredictable. This is progressive free jazz with a spice of dark ambient Real Book phobia. Dive in and enjoy!

All songs on this record are instant collective compositions. We simply don’t know what will happen during a studio session, as there are no planned tunes to play, no prepared lead sheets, scores or chords. We talk with our instruments, have a conversation through the music that happens. And we always have a good time.
The only editing on these tracks were the vocal overdubs. No instrument was added, no solo was played new. Everything you hear is first take and just happened in the very moment of the recording. As we say, this is about friendship and music…

The musicians of NOTOPIA are:
Marc Mennigmann (keys), Sven Kosakowski (drums), Peter Alexius (guitar on track 2, 4, 5 and 6).
